Where to Buy Natural Hair Care Products?

Long gone are the days where shopping for beauty products was exclusive to the local beauty supply store.  Since going natural, I rarely shop at the beauty supply store anymore.  Most of the products that I need are found at the health food store or health/specialty store, which definitely took some getting used to after spending years in the BSS treating my relaxed hair.

It’s a new day and now I use an overwhelming amount of natural products and natural based/simple products.

From my “Top 10 Products for my Natural Hair”, I get the things I need from various places.  See the list below for ideas where you may purchase some of the products.

1. Shea Butter – local African market or Shea Essentials

2. Aloe Vera Gel (AVG) (no alcohol added) – Local Health Store or vitaminshoppe.com

3. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO) - vitaminshoppe.com or Grocery store

4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) – Local grocery store (my neighborhood ethnic grocers sell it cheapest: Arabic, Latino, etc.)

5. Castor Oil – Local Health Store or vitaminshoppe.com

6. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) – grocery store

7. VO5 Moisture Milks or Suave Naturals Conditioner – Local pharmacy or grocer (Rite Aid, Walgreens, WalMart, Meijer, Kroger, etc.)

8. Henna – mehandi.com

9. Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap - Local grocer or vitaminshoppe.com (they usually have sales on it and super cheap shipping)

10. ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer – beauty supply store

Additional products that I use including my DC conditioners are purchased at the health food store as well (vitaminshoppe.com).  I use Nature’s Gate Lavender and Aloe Conditioner or Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner.  I will be trying a new conditioner from an independent business soon though – Brendita’s Body Works (review coming soon)!
