Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Mega Eyes Review
Who says you have to spend big bucks on your cosmetics to look great? I always had the misconception
that the more you spent on your make-up, the better you’ll look. Well with the recession and all, I‘ve had to make some changes to my spending habits with my beauty products. For years, I had purchased the Wet n Wild products as sort of a last option, and really didn’t put them to use. If I couldn’t get to the Mac counter, then I’d settle for some Wet n Wild. It wasn’t until recently that I purchased a few of the Mega Eyes Trio Palettes and discovered just how awesome these eyeshadows really are! Well, first of all, I’ll begin with the remarkable price tag!! I purchased each trio compact for around three bucks!! In comparison to department store top notch brand names, this is a complete steal!! Secondly, the convenient little compact is fantastic! It is in a durable plastic casing. It even contains a little pullout mirror! All for under three bucks? You just can’t beat that!
More importantly, when you think about eyeshadows, the real questions that comes to mind are: How long does it stay on? Is it chalky? How does it look on? Are the shades bold and lively? I will address those questions as I realize that they are essential when choosing your shadows. How long does it stay on? The shadow is a dry one, so it essential to use either a primer or dampen your lids in order to activate that staying power! I’ve found that coating your lids in foundation would work nicely as well. When this is done, I would say you get about 6-8 hours of wear! In my opinion, that‘s not bad for the price! Is it chalky? No, it is not! Actually I’d put it right up there with the higher brand names in this respect. The formula is a well made one, and it goes on smoothly, not chalky-like. How does it look on? Simply gorgeous! I can’t tell you how many compliments I receive when I wear Wet n Wild shadows! They are not shimmery at all, but more on the matte side, which is better for everyday wear. So if you are looking for that sparkly look in a shadow, this is not the shadow for you. And finally, are the shades bold and lively? I can assure you that they have a nice array of bold and beautiful colors to choose from. My personal favorite shades are the Amazon Greens and the Island Blues trios. Experiment to find the one that best compliments your skin tone and eye color. For the price, you won’t be out of too much in your quest to find your ideal shade.
The only drawback to this product that I can think of is the fact that the shadows break to pieces if dropped! I have had to reinvest in the shadow palettes, as it is a real pain to apply shadow that’s broken into pieces.
So before you head to the department stores to buy some expensive eyeshadows, make a quick trip to the drugstore and pick up some Wet n Wild. You can save some money and look great at the same time!
