Sulfur 8 Review
Posted by Julian on July 22, 2009 · 8 Comments
I have been using Sulfur 8 for years. One thing I can say is that Sulfur 8 works with and keeps your hair and scalp healthy. You have to use this product sparingly…a little dab will do you. Using too much will possibly get into your bedding, on your forehead, and have you smelling like sulfur 8. That’s one thing I don’t like about S8- the smell; but any product with sulfur in it, you should expect a stinky aroma. I did notice that my hair grew quite well with daily usage for a month. A big plus is that I had no dandruff to speak of after using S8 daily. Honestly I use it once in a while now to maintain a healthy scalp. I just couldn’t bear the smell and the greasiness all the time. I live in a very hot climate, and when I would sweat I could smell S8 in my perspiration.Great for the scalp… hard on the nose.
All in all I give Sulfur 8 a 3.5 out 5. I would say a weekly regimen of oiling once scalp would be fine. One jar should last for a month or two.

The sulfur 8 grease has 2% of sulfur in it. How much sulfur is that? For example (teaspoon, tablespoons, onces, a drop). What is sulfur?

Thanks for the review. I think sulfur is good for your hair, I remember many years back having to use sulfur water to wash my hair and it made it so silky shiny. I don’t see many hair products though with sulfur. I also don’t hear many reviews. I’m curious. I don’t have dandruff or anything, but I thought I would try Sulfur 8 to see if it helps my hair.

Sulfur 8 is great…I’ve been using it for almost a month and already I can see a huge difference in my scalp and hair. For African-Americans, our hair drys out easily and quickly. And it’s worse for those who have dandruff, which only results in hair breakage (which is what I often experience). However, being that I’ve been using Sulfur 8, it has nurtured my scalp and healed my dry skin. And now my hair looks and feels so much healthier. No lie…I combed my hair the other day and I couldn’t see any dandruff. I highly recommend this product to anyone who experiences scalp and hair damages. It really works…

I completely agree! Sulfur is great. The cons: the smell can be offensive to some. My mother used it when I was little, so I was somewhat accustom to the smell. It does get all over everything, and the sulfur tarnishes my silver! Funny, …..or not. Anyhoo, the pros out way the cons. I wear my hair in a fro, and when I started using Sulfur 8 about 4 months ago, it eliminated my dandruff. I also reside in the Rockies(meaning it’s cold and extrememly DRY), Sulfur 8 keeps my hair really soft feeling, more manageable, and I really tripped out about this one: my hair grew really fast. 3inches in 4 months is not bad at all!!!!!! I’m experiencing alot of stress and having to deal with dry weather. So I know I know for a fact that S* has helped my hair grow tremendously. I’ll deal with the funky smell anyday, for that much growth.
Peace and blessings
