Soft Sheen Carson’s Let’s Jam Heat Styles Smoothing Balm Review

let jam heat styles      My daughter’s hair is natural, so it is always my goal to find something that caters to her hair needs. I usually simply allow it to air dry in several two strand twists to achieve a more natural look. At other times I blow dry her hair when I am attempting to put it into ponytails for the week. For the blow dry days, I find that a heat protectant is needed to keep her strands guarded, and to achieve straightness. After shopping around, I decided to give the Soft Sheen Carson Smoothing Balm a try. The product label promises to “lock in straightness and lock out dryness.”  However, I found only half of this claim to be factual. After applying this to my daughter’s hair and blow drying it, yes, her hair was straightened rather nicely, but it was noticeably dryer than before. This balm is very drying to the hair. Instead of it locking in the moisture, it actually seems to accomplish quite the contrary, and lock it out. It also leaves a rather sticky film residue. This product is decent if used in conjunction with a good moisturizer; however, it really defeats its purpose in my opinion. I find myself applying too much product, which ultimately weighs her hair down. My quest for a good smoothing balm that also moisturizes is still on! If you have suggestions, I’ll be more than happy to hear from you!
