I normally don’t do the gel thing on my daughter’s or my hair, well, let me say I rarely use it. However, I figured since the label claimed to be non-drying and contained no alcohol, I would give the Smooth ‘N Shine conditioning gel a shot to smooth our edges for ponytails and buns. Well, people, I am here to tell you that this product is nothing that I expected, to say the least. As a matter of fact, after applying the gel to our hair, several hours later, we both broke out into tiny, little, white, itchy bumps surrounding our foreheads. It was just awful! This was the only new product that we had used so I knew that the gel was the culprit.
Aside from our break-out mishap, the gel did a mediocre job of smoothing. In comparison to Let’s Jam Gel, this gel did not stand up to the challenge. In fact, I hurried back to Walgreens to purchase the Let’s Jam which has never disappointed me in the past. I was giving this product a try because I was so pleased with the Smooth ‘N Shine Foam Wrap Lotion that I assumed that all of their products would be just as great! Well I was way off target in my assumption. That was six dollars and change gone down the drain. That’s another cost of being a true PJ….
