Setting Hair Goals for 2010
Of course, we all pretty much realize the importance of setting goals for any endeavor that we set out to do in life. So why not set goals for your hair care journey each New Year? The New Year offers new opportunities to alter the way that you did things in your regimen in the current year and to make way for improvement. There a few pointers you may want to consider when setting your healthy hair goals for guaranteed success!
First assess your current regimen and determine what is working and what isn’t. Toss out all of those practices that produce little to no results in your tresses. If you find that your hair is remaining the same, in terms of overall health, length or thickness, then you are in need of a new practice. For instance, if co-washing is not adding more moisture to your hair, then you are relying on the technique for no practical purpose. Basically, stop wasting your precious time.
Establish clear, measureable, and attainable goals. For instance you may be striving for more length. Determine how many inches you want to attain or what your hair length is. By December 2010, I will be APL, or I will gain ___ inches. If your goals are precise and to the point, then you will be more likely to achieve them. If your goals aren’t attainable or realistic, you will lose sight of them and give up. Don’t expect to go from ear length to mid back length in a year’s time.
Determine which products have been the most beneficial to you and which ones were disappointments. Make a list of the best products and set a goal to remain consistent with them. Make a resolution to discontinue purchasing products that you aren’t certain about. Stick to what works.
Keep a hair journal. Your journal should contain your goals and a self-monitoring system. Your system should be something that’s simple enough for you to track on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis without inconvenience.
Utilize the buddy system. It’s always better when you have someone encouraging you to reach your goals when they have a buddy or a support system. Join a forum challenge where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with like minded ladies with the same goals. BHP challenges of 2010 may have a challenge that is ideal for you.
Stick to your goals and stay encouraged. Before you know it, this time next year will roll around again, and you will be beaming that you’ve attained your goals!
