Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Revisited – Peppermint Edition Review
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Revisited – Peppermint Edition Review
As some may recall, I previously chronicled the pros and few cons of the Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps: Tea Tree version. I loved the tea tree hemp soap so much that I decided to try the Peppermint version of the product. I must say that the benefits differ to an extent. One thing about Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Magic Soap that initially intrigued me was the intense mint scent (but don’t sniff too hard now, you may just clear out your whole naval cavity). The organic peppermint oil infused in the soap is a natural scalp stimulant. The wild mint (mentha arvensis) extract has anti-microbal and antiseptic properties. It is also found to promote circulation. These benefits alone encourage hair growth. I initially used the tea tree edition to rid the dry scalp and seborrheic dermatitis I was experiencing; it did the trick. Come to find out, the peppermint Dr. Bronner’s inhibits dryness and flakiness as well. This is perfect for me, as my scalp used to suffer from the biggest flakes ever! Here are the ins and outs of my favorite 100% Vegan all natural castile soap…
Benefits:
- Scalp Stimulant (your head will feel exhilarated)
- Softens Hard Water
- Doesn’t Dry Out the Scalp
- Eliminates Build Up
- Promotes Circulation
- Safe on All Hair Types
- Encourages Growth
- Lathers Instantly
- Recession-Proof (it’s easy on your pocketbook)
- A Little Still Goes a Long Way!
- Peppermint Ignites the Senses
Downfalls:
- It may tangle your hair like the others if not careful (see this post to prevent this)
- Must Dilute Well (while it may be a con to some, I don’t mind at all)
- Peppermint Scent is Very Strong (when it hits hot water, the scent will be VERY heavy on your nose, be forewarned)
“What’s In It?” Only things that you can pronounce…Isn’t that refreshing!
Water, Saponfied Organic Coconut Oil*, Saponified Organic Olive Oil*, Organic Glycerin, Organic Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Mentha Arvensis Extract, Organic Mentha Peperita (Peppermint) Oil, Citric Acid, Tocopherol (* Certified Fair Trade by IMO)

Last week I went to whole foods and bought the almond and peppermint bar soaps. They were both $3.99 that may sound like a lot because you can get a whole pack of soaps for that much. BUT I knew of the high quality Dr. Bronner’s produces and like you said a little goes a long way. Both the liquid and the bar soap lather very well. I love both the almond and peppermint scents, although the peppermint opened my nose, it is a treat when you take a shower in it. The peppermint soap is really energizing in the morning. The almond is sweet smelling.
I used to use the almond version, it did have a wonderful smell. I decided to switch it up to try the other scents for the added benefits to my hair. I love Dr. B tho…I’m a lifetime consumer!
