It is a fact that most women find it more desirable to have long hair nowadays. The good news is that women no longer need to wait years before they get the length that they desire since hair extensions are available in almost all beauty parlors worldwide. Women can walk in just about any hair salon or beauty mart and choose from an array of weaves or wigs to accentuate their beauty. The variety of hair extensions to choose from also gives women more options in changing their appearance. However, before you decide which hair extension style to choose, you may go to your favorite hairstylist and ask for his advice on what best suits you.

Hair extensions have been very popular in the past decades. Women of all ages and races have been sporting extensions of all types. More often times than not, you cannot even tell which hair is real and which of them aren’t– A definite plus to a woman’s esteem!

Among other things, hair extensions offer variety. Since hair extensions are practically just sewed or glued on, it can be easily removed or changed. One does not need to worry about a long-term commitment with any hairstyle. Hair extensions give you instant results, there is no more need to wait years to have the desired hair length, in fact, and it just takes minutes to sew or glue it on. In addition, hair extensions provide protection to the natural hair to some extent. With some variety of hair extensions, one can do away with harsh daily styling. A good example of this would be braided hair extensions. This is a wash and wear hairstyle that need not to be styled in any manner. Just wash the extensions when needed, dry it off with a towel, and you are good to go!

No matter how great hair extensions may seem, there definitely are some setbacks to deal with in getting them.

First, of course would be the cost.  Prices can range anywhere from $300 to $3,500 for worthy extensions. It would depend on what kind of hair extensions you get and the method used to sew or glue it on. Another consequence some have to face is potential damage to their natural hair. Hair extensions are glued in, just like any synthetic material, it can pose as a damaging threat to your natural hair and scalp if not properly tended to.

So if you are considering going the extension route, weigh your options first. If you decide hair extensions are the way to go, be sure to take care of your own hair, and enjoy your new lovely look!
