Get Excited About the MUFA Diet – Challenge!
Get Excited About the MUFA Diet – Challenge!
Wanna know yet another thing that’s going on over at BHP forum? The Flat Belly/MUFA (Mono-Unsaturated Fatty Acids) Diet Challenge of course! This strenuous challenge kicks off today (this means there’s still time to join!). Our own Dena, a Super Moderator (and BHP’s 1st Lady), is heading this challenge that everyone is super excited about!
Ladies (and some fellas) know how it feels to want to lose a few of those inches around the waist. Many of us want to drop a pant size or two (that’s right, no more fighting our way into last season’s skinny jean). Most of us just want to be able to have the coveted flat tummy that we may not have seen in years! No matter what our initial motives are, we plan to support one another for the duration of the challenge and beyond to lose all of the belly fat that we can (in addition to overall health and wellness)! From my normal eating habits, I have comprised the following brief lists to help all of the challengers out!
Quick Tips for cutting calories…
- Read those nutrition labels!
- Buy 2% milk cheese instead of the regular version, you’ll automatically save at least 30 cal
- For those who love bagels in the morning, try an alternative…switch to English muffins or whole wheat bread toast w/fat free cream cheese
- Try low fat, reduced fat, or fat free options instead of regular whole fat versions of items
- Buy Whole Wheat bread instead of white or wheat
- Replace beef and pork with ground turkey in meals
- Eat Amish or all natural chicken (less hormones)
- If you must eat fast food, substitute the fries for a side salad
- Instead of ice cream, do frozen yogurt
- Use Italian dressing or oil & vinegar instead of ranch or caesar dressing
Make The Best Calories Count…
- Put coconut oil on your popcorn instead of butter/margarine
- Spread EVOO on your toast instead of butter/margarine
- Cook ur foods in EVOO, Coconut Oil, and other mufa oils. Stay away from canola & vegetable oils
- Snack on fruits, nuts, veggies
- Kick up your tea with a tablespoon of coconut oil
- Snack on some raisins(these contain low calories and good amount of fiber) and nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc)
- Eat more seafood, beans, legumes as a source of protein instead of your typical meats

BHP Castor Oil Challenge
BHP Castor Oil Challenge
So, what’s all the excitement about at BHP? The Castor Oil Challenge, of course! I don’t think there’s ever been a challenge on our forum as popular as this one! Castor Oil is known for its many properties, one of them being the benefits it has on our hair when used consistently. When castor oil is applied directly to the scalp, it is said to promote growth, thickness, luster and body. We want to test this theory out and see if we can reap some of these benefits with our Castor Oil Challenge. Leentora, a Super Moderator at BHP is heading this challenge off! We are so geeked up about this challenge, and we can hardly wait to see and share the results! Our challengers are relaxed, natural, and texlaxed! Castor Oil can have benefits on all types of hair and textures!
