Although a recession rages, the good smelling body oils and perfumes are still in high demand. Sometimes a soothing scent can make one forget the toils of the day. There is nothing like a hot shower, a new outfit, and a sensational bouquet of the fragrances of body oils or perfumes.  The question is whether to buy body oils or perfumes. Let’s examine pros and cons of each.

Perfumes and colognes are mostly alcohol that can dry the skin. A typical perfume or cologne can contain up to 80% to 90% and the body oil counter part contains none.  Body oils are usually a fraction of the cost of perfumes or colognes. This is a definite plus, because you can afford more scents for the same price of one bottle of perfume or cologne.  Body oils have had a negative impression because of the inferior quality that sometimes is associated with the industry. The 1970’s brought the bell bottom pants, afros, and cheap body oils. These oils were not made with the correct instruments or the essential oils that produce a great perfume. It’s similar to the way you probably feel about eight track tapes.

Perfumes are different than body oils, but in many ways, body oils are better.  Body oils now, for the most part, are not inferior, as they were in the seventies. They are just as mainstream as top of the line perfumes and colognes. The public has gotten a whiff of body oils, and are voting by the increases.  Once you make the decision to use body oils, you seldom go back to alcohol- filled perfumes and colognes. Body oils offer reasonable prices, hard to find scents, and low allergic reaction. It seems like body oils are here to stay.

Let’s go over good and bad points again. Body oils have lower price, no alcohol, longer-shelf life, lasts longer on the skin, and the best of all, they aren’t flammable.  Seriously, I am not knocking perfumes or colognes but, these are the facts. Perfumes and colognes are primarily alcohol, cost more, have a lower shelf life, and are flammable.

Body oils are just more of what we need to stay beautiful in a gloomy recession.
