What are the best anti-breakage products for relaxed hair?
Protein products are the answer. Chemical treatments are taxing to the strands causing a breakdown of the hair’s natural proteins. Therefore, protein products, especially reconstructors (meaning to rebuild), will cause the hair to have less breakage. The protein will in effect rebuild the keratin bonds (that are natural present in the hair) that were broken in the process of getting the relaxer. The hair will in turn have less damage, split ends, and appear to be stronger than it would without the addition of protein to your tresses. Protein treatments would be the first thing and the best thing to do upon getting a relaxer, whether it contains lye or not.
