I am especially having trouble with the middle section at the top of my head. It won't grow but it is the thickest part of my hair. Its almost like I have a bald spot.

Now, it is important to read labels and see what the product makes claims to do and to also read ingredient labels first...but basically:
A leave in serves as a conditioner. It just helps to strengthen or repair the hair. It does not usually moisturize the hair.
Whereas, a moisturizer serves the purpose of actually providing moisture for the hair. Now some do both, like the NTM leave in moisturizer. But I actually prefer either or, not two in one. HTH, VERA!
